The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has, at its meeting on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, adopted the report of the 7-man Committee ahead of the June 18, 2022 Ekiti governorship election.
The NWC has accordingly invited the 7-man Committee to an emergency meeting on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the PDP National Secretariat Abuja. Time is 2pm.
Attendance to the emergency meeting is mandatory and strictly by invitation, please.
The NWC commends members of the 7-man Committee for their dedicated efforts in the very important assignment.

PRESIDENT BUHARI MOURNS CHU OKONGWU, FORMER FINANCE MINISTER
President Muhammadu Buhari extends heartfelt condolences to the Okongwu family on the passing of the foremost economist and a former Minister of Finance, Prof Chu Okongwu.
The President joins family, friends and associates in paying tribute to a man of many parts, who never hesitated to give his best to Nigeria as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Broadcasting Service, sub-editor, Daily Times Nigeria, Lecturer, University of Nigeria and a Federal Minister of National Planning and later Finance.
President Buhari believes that the perspectives the late Professor brought to governance and economics, which centered on improving the lives of Nigerians, will not be forgotten.
The President prays for the repose of the soul of the departed and divine comfort for his family during this difficult time.

PRESIDENT BUHARI MOURNS FORMER OYO STATE GOVERNOR, ALAO-AKALA
President Muhammadu Buhari commiserates with the Alao-Akala family, the government and people of Oyo State on the passing of a former governor of the State, Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala.
As a former police officer and civilian governor with an extensive political career, the President affirms that Otunba Akala served the country and the people of Oyo State with dedication, making very important contributions to the development of institutions and communities.
The President trusts that family, friends and associates who mourn the late Governor, will honour his vision of entrenching good governance in the country and passion to lift the downtrodden in the society.
The President prays God almighty to grant the departed eternal rest and comfort those who mourn.
